If you have ever hosted a dinner party for family or friends, you know just how hectic that it can get to be. There are so many things going on that it can sometimes just be easiest to go as simple as possible for your dishware that is used. In fact, many people simply give up on dishware all together and plan a barbecue. This lets them use plastic utensils with paper plates. Though it may seem like an easy solution, it is not exactly classy or elegant.

It may not be of the best taste, but how in the world can anyone deal with all of those dishes?! Not to mention all of the risk that you are putting in your guests’ hands with your fragile dishware. However, there are certain items that will enable you to have a formal dinner party, without any fret of difficulty of cleaning or of risk of items breaking. 

Pyrex Baking Dishes

In my kitchen, whether for a dinner party or just a simple family evening, casserole dishes and baking dishes made by Pyrex are an absolute must. They allow you to cook a variety of products from casseroles, to chicken, to a number of other delicious meals, and not have to be required to remove the food from its original baking dish. 

Pyrex also makes other fantastic products, but their baking dishes certainly take the cake. They’re oven-safe and dishwasher-safe, so they’re easy to work with. The clear glass also makes a nice presentation dish if you’re going to serve dinner directly to the table from the dish.

It is also said that the glass that these products are made out of are unbreakable and able to be thrown against the floor. However, I have never gotten up the courage to actually do this myself. I have had friends say it is in fact true, though! Who doesn’t want an unbreakable dish?

Corelle Plates

I can honestly say that I, in fact, have tested the theory of Corelle manufacturing plates and bowls that are unbreakable. On accident, of course, one day I dropped a plate and was horrified as I saw the plate falling to its death. However, I was more than excited when the plate ended up without even so much as a chip on it! 

Aside from Corelle products being unbreakable, they are also very budget friendly. Averaging at a price point of $40 for a 20 piece dishware set, Corelle items are truly worth every single penny that you will spend on them. 

One of the great things about using Corelle at a dinner party as well is that it will be very environmentally friendly. Instead of having to simply dispose of paper plates after each gathering and wasting some very precious material, you will simply have to wash them and then put them away for either next time or for your own daily use. 

You may be cringing at the idea of having to wash that many pieces of dishware on your own, but luckily Corelle is very dishwasher safe and can withstand the heat dry cycle much better than other brands. If you do not have a dishwasher or you do not want to use it, why not recruit the kids or a few close friends. They owe you, right?

Tupperware

So, as you are going through the motions of your post-party clean up, you are very rapidly realising that there is a large amount of leftover food. Obviously, you do not want to toss out anything that you don’t have to. If it is salvageable, by all means do so! However, many people have a hard time finding out just how to store any of the remaining food. 

One of the biggest investments that you can make for a household that has dinner parties on a frequent basis is Tupperware. These plastic wonders allow for you to safely secure food without having to worry about any air leaks that could potentially create mould or bacteria that can cause disease and illness.
